CORONA, CA, UNITED STATES, November 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The DNA Company’s, DNA University secured approval from the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM) for its Functional Genomics Course, expanding the reach of functional genomics education among acupuncture and herbal medicine practitioners.

NCBAHM confirmed the approval on October 28, following several months of work led by Dr. Tracey Steady, Dean of Students at DNA University and Clinical Director at The DNA Company, steered by CEO, Tracy Wood.

The approval allows practitioners to earn 16.5 Professional Development Activity (PDA) points through the course, connecting DNA University's functional genomics training with an established continuing education program.

BRINGING FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS INTO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
The approval creates an additional educational opportunity for practitioners interested in understanding how genetic variations may influence biological processes and individual responses to health and wellness strategies.

DNA University's Functional Genomics Course explores genetic information and its relevance to broader health considerations. Its educational approach encourages practitioners to consider genetic findings alongside other factors affecting individual health.

NCBAHM administers a professional development program for certified acupuncture and herbal medicine practitioners. Its course approval process reviews educational content, instructor qualifications and relevance to professional development requirements.

For DNA University, the decision represents progress in extending functional genomics education to practitioners working across different approaches to healthcare.
